Yes, this is completely surreal. I'm starting to get that dreamy movie state of mind, where everyday activities just don't feel the same. Not subway rides, not chatting with friends, not shopping. Everything now has this distant feel to it. I am nervous, excited, freaked out by my entire decision to go away for a year, but surprisingly just ready to get to the airport in DC to leave for Africa. Despite all my nervousness I am embracing my upcoming experience. I don't have much left to do except unbraid, wash and re-braid my hair and make yet another attempt at taking some of the unnecessary weight out of my luggage. I think it's safe to say I'll be paying that $150 overweight luggage fee to South African Airways. Well, this is an exception since I will be gone for a year. I've gotten my travel blog set up: http://beautifulnamibia.tumblr.com/ . I think it's too plain, but I don't have the time to fiddle with Tumblr and CSS, plus I don't want pictures that I upload to be distracted by too much design. So, I guess that's that. Anyway, I'm off to brave the streets of Manhattan, which I'm sure is a madhouse filled with last minute shoppers and tourists. But such is life.
