I want to share with you a thought-provoking concept that I just read about on the blog of an intuitive counselor named Colette Baron-Reid. It's something called synchronicity. Below is an excerpt from her writings on the topic:
We’ve all had those uncanny coincidences at times. You think of someone for the first time in years and then run into her hours later. You hear people say the same seemingly random phrase three times in one day, and that phrase directly relates to a problem you’ve been struggling with. While in Trader Joes you run into the guy you dated several years ago while you both lived on the other side of the country. A friend gives you the same book that your coworker recommended to you the day before.
While at first it’s easy to shrug off such mysterious events as eerie coincidences, they’re far more powerful than many of us realize. These synchronicities are meaningful coincidences that your soul attracts into your life to help you grow and evolve.
Synchronicities are confirmation of your limitless connection with Spirit and the world around you. Imagine each of us has a unique living map of fate and destiny. You have your own unique path and, just like a road map, your path crosses with other paths. The moment of intersection is where coincidence becomes meaningful, and synchronicities are the signs that help guide you to your ultimate destiny. When you pay attention and intuitively take advantage of synchronistic events, life becomes easier and more purposeful.
Sometimes synchronicities seem to be leading you on one path, but then the outcome isn’t what it seems it was supposed to be? Our soul attracts synchronicities to help us grow. Sometimes we’re meant to go through the experience in order to evolve, but not have the end result we expect. In fact, those very experiences often play a major role in preparing us for something better. Looking back on your life now, can you think of a time when something that didn’t work out played a key role in helping you grow into the person who had an even better job, relationship, opportunity, etc? Sometimes synchronicities happen to encourage you to take a look at yourself and old stories so you can move to a higher path.
Synchronicities are happening all the time. While some are like flashing signs directing you to on your path, others are mundane and help us keep aware. How do you know which synchronicities to pay close attention to? Just like I’ve talked about with cledons, your sense will be heightened in a noticeably different way. It will feel like the truth amplified and in that moment you’ll just know.
Synchronicities call for you to trust your intuition and then let go. Spirit will reveal the answers to you in Divine appropriate timing.
Exercise:
Make a list of the major synchronicities that have happened in your life. How did those events help you grow and become who you are today?
Think of times when the outcome was not what you expected. How did going through the experience help you on your path? Were there any red flags or intuitive hits that suggested you needed to step back and take a good look at a pattern or trigger?
Then think of times when the outcome was just what you expected. Did you experience an inner knowing? What helped you trust the synchronicity and move forward?
Exercise:
Synchronicities are happening all the time. You just have to open your eyes and trust. As you notice more synchronicities, more and more will happen in your life. So, this week, I’d like you to start recording synchronicities in a journal. Take note of even small coincidences such as thinking about having a peanut butter sandwich only to discover your coworker eating one an hour later.
And, meditate! Meditation helps you connect with your intuition and, in turn, helps you tap into the All That Is, where synchronicities abound.

My own recent synchronicity:
This year, my grandmother passed away on the same day as the (then) boyfriend's birthday. Months earlier I had been harping on the fact that we were supposed to spend his 30th birthday together, but he instead made plans for a trip to Vegas with guy friends. What does THAT synchronicity mean???
