So first of all, yet another crazy unexpected familial situation occurred this week and as usual something simply extraordinary came out of it. I'm really seeing how this is ever the recurring motif of my life. Crazy beautiful. I won't get into the madness of Monday evening because it's just not worth it. But I will get into the new flame in my life! *smile*
So I'm not in Atlanta anymore as of Monday... I'm officially back in NYC.
But my exit out of Atlanta led me to cross paths with someone new. A 30 year old super handsome brother from Senegal. He was my cab driver. I was super upset at having to leave Atlanta on such disappointing terms and yet who picks me up but an enlightened Senegalese brother who made everything THAT much better :)
So who is he? His name is Mouhamed.
And more?
Well, he's one of those hustler entrepreneur types... he has a cab company in which he freelances, an international trade business which had him fly back and forth to Africa three times since June. The man is making moves. He's been here for 15 years, but he's also already become an American citizen so I don't have to worry about that hidden agenda. He's got his bachelor's in business administration, and has plans to get his MBA. Oh, and he's also Muslim and an intellectual. On top of that he has a beautiful smile. We clicked as soon as we met and we ended up spending the entire night chatting it up on everything from bringing the Diaspora together through business partnerships to what we each are looking for in a partner. It was just easy and wonderful conversation. Sort of Love Jones-ish. Two beautiful black people connecting in the late evening on a whim.
And oh yeah, we kissed. Well why not? I'm 27, and I just had one hell of a depressing breakup with the ex. And a sporadic exit of out Georgia. I love being an adult and meeting new people... especially sexy intellectual black men from other countries. I find it so intoxicating.
So yeah, he's fun, doesn't take himself too seriously, has that Senegalese regal-ness that I always notice in men from Senegal, he's friendly, generously compliments me, and we laugh easily together. He made my evening so much smoother and we've spoken every night since. I like him.
Just reading this made me forget about your breakup so I can imagine how such a warm evening deleted your entire hard drive. Lol.
ReplyDeleteBe happy. Love. Live.
Good luck.
Yeah, sometimes it really doesn't take much to remind you that someone else is always right around the corner.. I had forgotten that! Thanks Don : )
