Acceptance

I'm accepting...

(sigh)

That I'm starting to appreciate Drake!

One thing I hate is haters, so I can't be phony any longer and pretend like I'm not feeling his music.  The 80s babies that we are, my best friend and I have actually debated with people about why Drake was def overrated.  Now to all you Drake heads out there, we weren't saying he wasn't talented, but his come-up was like lightening speed before he hadn't, in our opinion, earned it.  I hate how the industry tends to shove certain new artists down our throats.  I'm still totally disappointed in the current quality of hip hop and r&b music (only furthering my natural interest in soca, reggae, and African music) - and it's not because I'm getting "older".

Yeah, so I'm still not completely sold on how fast Drake's come up was, BUT I have to be honest and accept the fact that I'm starting to like him as an artist.  And I mean hey, I couldn't just drink the Drake Kool-Aid right away now could I?  lol  So anyway, the track below is a favorite of mine.  Sort of has some NYC swag in it (I'm a native New Yorker) and I'm feeling the lyrics too.  ~ Cheers
