Well, I said I loved summer time and and all things warm, but this kind of heat in NYC is just oppressive! (99 degrees today and tomorrow and above 90 for the rest of the week.) It's just stuffy, smoggy, and you feel claustrophobic. Actually, the weather in the Caribbean is hot pretty much all the time (and I love it), but it's a much more bearable kind of heat, there is always a breeze, and it actually cools off in the evenings...*sweet memories*
So, in my research about Namibia, I was reading about what the weather is like in this book that I bought. I saw something that said temps reach 45 degrees celcius. So cluelessly I was like, hmmm, "I wonder what that equates to in farenheit?". I google my handy dandy celcius to farenheit converter and plug in 45 degrees C and do you know what that converted to? 113 degrees F????! I was like - sh*t! Slightly freaked out, lol. Can you say for the first time in my life I will actually be using sunscreen? lol
Apparently depending on where you are and the time of year, it's not uncommon for temperatures in Namibia to go above 110 degrees F, and it is a very arid country. Not that I never knew parts of Africa got hot, but that number - 113, just hit me like a ton of bricks, lol. Like this is serious stuff. I guess I better get ready because that makes this little NYC heatwave seem like a breeze!
